UANGO

UANGO is an active medical device intended for the rehabilitation of the lower limbs in patients with paraplegia, disabilities or mobility disorders. UAN.GO allows simple functional exercises to be performed. The patient must put on the exoskeletons from the sitting position in which the device is placed and must always use crutches. All these operations are performed under the supervision of the caregiver.

Specifically, it is intended for individuals with complete SCI at levels T4 to L5 (with upper extremity motor function of at least 4/5 in both arms), and incomplete SCI at levels of C7 to T3 (with upper extremity motor function of at least 4/5 in both arms). It has been designed also for patients with hemiplegia due to stroke and multiple sclerosis patients, but more generally for all those with lower limbs related to neurological pathologies and neurodegenerative diseases with severe gait impairments (with motor function of 4/5 in at least one upper extremity).

User Population Requirements

The intended user population must have:

  • Hands and shoulders capable of supporting crutches or a walker.
  • A healthy bone density as judged by the prescribing physician after clinical examination. With a DEXA measurement, a T > -3.5 score of the entire hip is recommended.
  • The skeleton without fractures.
  • Ability to stand using a device as an easy stand.
  • Generally good health.
  • A height between approximately 160 cm and 195 cm.
  • Weight not exceeding 100 kg.
  • An age of at least 18 years.

The device can be used in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, rehabilitation clinics, research centres. The medical device must not be used for other purposes or by unauthorised personnel.
